Altenew Color Therapy Blog Hop + Giveaway

10:00:00 PM

Hello and welcome to the Altenew Color Therapy Blog Hop! It's Dana here and I'm so excited to be part of this fun blog hop today. If you are from Zinia Redo's blog, you are on the right track. I'm sharing full blog hop list in the bottom of this post, please check it out if you need it.

For today, I have two cards and tips for Altenew Artist Markers. Here are what I came up with.

To begin, I stamped two flower bouquets from Altenew Forever and Always Stamp Set for this card and next one using Altenew Crisp Inks Permanent Black. Then, I colored them using only Altenew Artist Markers Set A, B and C.

For today's leaf coloring, I needed various shades of green colors, but there are only 3 green markers in these sets and I made new colors by myself.

There are some ways to create new colors using alcohol markers like tip-to-tip technique, but I do recommend following technique to create more subtle shade of colors.

  • Just think by yourself you are doing watercoloring!
  • Pull out acrylic block and brush brown shades (Y612, Y823) and blue shades (B204, B227, B016) marker colors on it like you do before watercolor paint blending.
  • Instead of paint brush, grab G702 and G715 green markers.
  • Blend green color with colors on acrylic block using each tips of green markers and get start your coloring.
  • You can make light mint colors using light blue marker tip with green colors on acrylic block.

Using this way, I colored both bouquets and die cut them with coordinating dies.

For this card, I stamped flower bouquet with light gray ink onto A2 sized white card base and foam mounted colored piece as shown.

I gold heat embossed the sentiment from Altenew Forever and Always Stamp Set using Altenew Rose Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of paper from Altenew Reflection Paper Pad.

  39. Hello, I've just signed up to follow you as I've not seen your work before on my short journey. WOW ! The cards are fab, thank you for the tips, sorry to ask a stupid question but when you mix the green with what's on the block do you do that direct to marker ? Does this not ruin nibs ?

    1. Hi, Andrea! That's a good question! Yes, direct to the marker. My marker tip turned a little bit darker (very small part) but there is no problem at all to original marker color :)
